There are times when life feels stressful and challenging. You may feel stuck or that the usual ways of coping are no longer working. I will provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to explore any difficulties that are preventing you from living a satisfactory and fulfilling life.
Each of us is unique with our own needs and goals. I believe in working flexibly and collaboratively with each person seeking my help, tailoring therapy to the needs of the individual and what they find helpful or useful.
I offer both short and long term therapy to adults and I'm also qualified and experienced in working with young people (aged 11 and over).
My practice as a therapist reflects my life values of caring, compassion, conscientiousness and the love of learning. My therapeutic approach is integrative and is underpinned by a belief that no single theory or model holds all the answers in terms of understanding how problems arise and how they are addressed. In my experience clients want and benefit from different ways of working in therapy. I've trained in several psychological modalities the main ones being Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I've also found Mindfulness and art based therapy techniques to be effective for many clients. I'll draw on my training and experience to work with you and to develop a tailored therapy that is most likely to help you as an individual.
I'm fully insured and hold an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland certificate for working with adults and children. As a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, accredited counsellor, I adhere to their ethical standards and codes of practice.
